Amberley Close, Keynsham
While preparing Christmas lunch a Keynsham family had to leave their property after a fire broke in the kitchen.
When crews arrived they found that a single mum and two children together with their grandmother had safely left the property.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally after a plastic chopping board caught fire, which firefighters in breathing apparatus removed from the property.
Fire crews explained what had happened to the landlord of a nearby pub who offered to cook the family Christmas lunch for free.
Crews from Hicks Gate and Kingswood Fire Station attended the incident.
