Smithams Hill, East Harptree
Crews were called a rescue a trapped horse that had fallen into a sink hole in the paddock of a farm.
The large animal was sedated by a vet before the animal recovered using small and animal rescue equipment.
The owner of horse, Nigel Sommerfield said: “On behalf of my family, I would like to thank all the firefighters who came to the rescue of our fantastic horse Buzz.
“They all showed great team work and skill and certainly saved his life. All the signs are that he has come through the ordeal unscathed undoubtedly helped by the speed with which the team managed to get him out.”
Three crews attended the incident from Bedminster and RDS Chew Magna.
