M4 motorway, junctions 18 to 17 eastbound
Firefighters have rescued a lady from a car which left the M4 motorway and came to a stop in a field.
Crews from Patchway, Temple and Avonmouth fire stations were alerted to the incident on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway.
When crews arrived they found a car in a field with a lady aged in her 60s still in the vehicle. It’s believed the car had been involved in a collision with a HGV.
Working alongside the ambulance service, firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue the lady from her car. Once freed she was taken to hospital by ambulance.
