Dog treats on hob cause fire

New King Street, Bath

Crews from Bath and Hicks Gate fire stations were called to a fire after dog treats were left on a hob.

On arrival, firefighters discovered a fire in a ground floor flat and forced entry.

Two firefighters in breathing apparatus used one high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire.

They also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property.

The cause is thought to be accidental and crews remained on scene to deliver fire safety advice.
