Crews were called to a ground floor fire at a two storey property. When firefighters arrived they found that a 42-year-old woman had self-rescued from the building.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used one high pressure hose reel and jet to tackle the fire. A ventilation fan was also used to clear the property of smoke.
The woman was treated on scene by ambulance crews for smoke inhalation.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
Three crews attended the incident from Temple and Kingswood.
