Fire tackled in Hartcliffe flat

A man has died following a fire at a flat in Bristol.

Four fire engines and a turntable ladder were called to a report of a fire at an eleven storey block of flats. 

Crews from Bedminster, Temple, Kingswood and Chew Magna fire stations attended the incident which involved a flat on the second floor. Four firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the flat and tackled the fire using high pressure hose reels.

The body of a man in his 40s was found inside the property. 

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Avon Fire & Rescue Service and Avon and Somerset Police.
