Firefighters have tackled a fire which broke out in a takeaway restaurant.
Four fire engines from Southmead, Kingswood and Temple fire stations, as well as a turntable ladder were called to the incident which involved a three storey building. Six firefighters in breathing apparatus used high pressure hose reels, foam and CO2 extinguishers to put out the fire. The blaze involved a deep fat fryer in the ground floor restaurant and also affected an extraction flue.
The residents of flats in two floors above the takeaway had evacuated.
The fire is thought to have started accidentally and there were no reports of any injuries.
