More than 40 firefighters were called to a major incident after a fire broke out on the ground floor of a shop.
Crews from Temple, Bedminster, Kingswood, Hicks Gate, Avonmouth, Nailsea, Patchway and Portishead fire stations were all called to the scene. A command unit from Kingswood was also in attendance.
Throughout the extensive operation, 24 firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled the fire with two high-pressure hose reels and one 45mm jet.
Multiple thermal imaging cameras were used to check for hotspots, along with a turntable ladder, two extension ladders and small gear.
Positive pressure ventilation fans were then used to clear smoke from the building.
Crews remained on scene overnight to monitor the situation and structure of the building.
A welfare unit was also in attendance for those who had been affected by the fire.
The road remains partially closed and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
