Flat fire affects two properties

High Kingsdown, Kingsdown

Crews from across the Service were called to a first floor flat fire that was affecting a neighbouring property.

Two crews from Temple, one from Avonmouth, Southmead, Bedminster, and Bath fire stations all attended the incident.

On arrival, they found the first floor flat well alight and the fire had spread into the roof void.

Twelve firefighters in breathing apparatus used two 45mm jets and three high-pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire, while the gas and electric were both isolated.

They also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.

The cause is thought to be accidental and the Red Cross were all in attendance.

Firefighters remained on scene to provide safety advice to neighbouring properties.
