Multiple crews tackle derelict boathouse fire

Redcliffe Wharf, Redcliffe

Multiple crews from across the Service area were called to a fire in a derelict boathouse.

Crews from Temple, Kingswood, Pill, Bedminster, Avonmouth and Portishead fire stations all attended the incident in the 50 by 25 meter structure.

Eight firefighters in breathing apparatus used one 45mm jet, 2 high-pressure hose reels and a turntable ladder to extinguish the fire.

They also used two positive pressure ventilation fans to clear smoke from the building and a boat crew were on hand due to the location of the incident.

There were no injuries and all persons were accounted for.

Crews returned for inspection the following morning and the cause is thought to be accidental.
