Chemical blockage washed away

Jamaica Street, Kingsdown

Crews from Temple and Patchway fire stations were called to a residential property where a cleaning chemical was giving off fumes.

On arrival, two firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the property and removed the chemical, trapped in the sink, by washing it down with copious amounts of water.

Splashes of the chemical were also neutralised using soda ash before being cleared away.

The resident of the property was evacuated as the chemical was cleared.
