Crews called to fire after aerosol explosion

Hengrove Road, Knowle

Crews from Temple and Bedminster fire stations were called to a kitchen fire after an aerosol left on the hob caused an explosion.

On arrival, firefighters discovered the fire in a first floor flat.

Two firefighters in breathing apparatus used one high-pressure to extinguish the fire.

They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property.

One male casualty in his 40s was treated by ambulance crews for smoke inhalation.

The cause is thought to be accidental.
