Fire crews from Southmead and Temple fire stations were alerted after passers by noticed a fire in the top floor of a semi detached property. Once on scene firefighters were faced with a well developed blaze on the first floor which had spread into the roof void.

Crews immediately evacuated an adult and two children from a next door property, in response to concerns the blaze could spread. The house where the fire had started was not  inhabited.

The incident also caused smoke damage to the roof of the neighbouring house, but the occupants were allowed back in that evening. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
