Cat rescued from severe flat fire

St Ives Road, Weston-super-Mare

Firefighters have tackled a severe fire at a flat in Weston-super-Mare.

Five fire engines and a turntable ladder from stations at Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Winscombe and Temple were called to the incident. The first crews on scene reported the first floor flat in the two storey semi-detached property was well alight.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled the fire using jets and hose reels. During the course of the incident a cat was also rescued from the first floor flat. There were no reports of any injuries.
