Neighbours alerted to fire thanks to smoke alarm

Southridge Heights, Weston-super-Mare

Crews from Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon fire stations were called to a residential property fire after a neighbour heard the smoke alarm.

Four firefighters in breathing apparatus used one high-pressure hose reel and a jet to extinguish the blaze.

Closed doors in the property prevented the fire from spreading and contained it to one room.

South Western Ambulance Service and Western Power were also in attendance and all persons were accounted for.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
