Dog rescued from quarry

South Road, Weston-super-Mare

Crews from Temple and Kingswood fire stations were called to rescue a dog that had become stuck 40ft from the top of a quarry.

Millie, a beagle dog, had been trapped for around 90 minutes before the arrival of crews.

Two firefighters went over the top of the quarry using rope rescue procedures and secured the dog, before lowering to the bottom of the quarry.

Millie was subsequently reunited with his owner.
