Two conveyed to hospital following flat fire

Bristol Road Lower, Weston-super-Mare

Three crews from Weston fire station, along with the turntable ladder, were called to a first-floor flat fire.

On arrival, four firefighters in breathing apparatus used two high-pressure hose reels and one 45mm jet to extinguish the fire.

Prior to the arrival of crews, eleven people had self-rescued from the building.

One male and one female casualty were conveyed to hospital by ambulance.

Police were also in attendence and the cause is thought to be accidental.
