Thyme Close, Portishead
The cause of a fire which destroyed a shed and first floor property is being investigated.
Two fire engines from Portishead Fire Station were called to initial reports of a fire in a shed. However on arrival fire crews found the blaze had spread to an adjoining residential first floor property in the coach house style development.
As a result three further appliances from Avonmouth and Pill fire stations were called to the scene. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus made a search of the first floor property, which fortunately was unoccupied. Three high pressure hose reels were put to use to extinguish the fire in the shed and adjoining property.
The fire caused severe damage throughout the first floor property and roof where firefighters removed tiles during the damping down process.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by fire officers and the police.
