Supplies & Procurement Manager

Based at:            Fire Service Headquarters, Valley Road, Portishead BS20 8JJ
Contract:            Temporary for 12-18 months
Hours:                 37 hours per week
Salary:                 Hay 5 (£34,538 to £37,306pa)~
Closing date:     Noon on Wednesday 27 September 2017

We are looking for a temporary Supplies & Procurement Manager to provide specialist advice and guidance on public procurement legislation to all levels of staff within the Service. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all legal purchasing requirements, lead and co-ordinate formal tenders, issue contracts for goods and services, and carry out forward planning of diverse and complex procurement projects. You will assist in the development of collaborative and partnership relationships at local, regional and national level, and supervise the day to day operation of the Supplies & Services office.

To be considered as a candidate you will be MCIPS qualified (or related degree) with a sound knowledge and experience of procurement practices and procedures. You will have experience in business case preparation, contract drafting, evaluation and analysis, and of undertaking OJEU procurements. An appropriate qualification in project management is desirable, as is an understanding of public sector organisations.
