Salary: Hay 7 (£27,394 - £29,854)

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our Health & Safety team and assist in providing comprehensive health and safety advice and support to all functions and staff within the Service.
The successful applicant will implement our programme of continual improvement across the Service by identifying and minimising risks, developing safe working practices, disseminating information, and preparing and delivering health and safety training programmes and initiatives. You will be key to monitoring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.

Please note - as this post is based at our new Headquarters which we share with Avon & Somerset Police, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a security clearance check.
To be considered as a candidate you must be able to evidence that you have achieved a recognised health and safety qualification (NVQ 5, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) and have proven post qualification experience. You will be familiar with health and safety law, its interpretation and application within the workplace, and experience of undertaking investigations, carrying out risk assessments and completing workplace inspections. A CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety (or equivalent) with a good knowledge of food hygiene regulations is required, but can be obtained following appointment. A qualification in ergonomic assessment is desirable, as is IOSH membership or equivalent.
