Stores Officer

Based at:            Technical Centre (Nova Way, Avonmouth)
Contract:            Permanent
Hours:                 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Salary:                 £18,070 per annum

We have a permanent vacancy for a Stores Officer at our Technical Centre.  The role involves the ordering, receipt, checking, recording, security and distribution of a range of essential stores items across the organisation. 

The post holder will ensure appropriate systems are in place to record and monitor stock levels and prepare reports to ensure items are replenished in accordance with the agreed stock holding policies.  The delivery of stock across the service must be effectively managed to ensure items are available when required to contribute to the smooth running of the organisation. 

You will work within a small team, including the Stores Drivers to ensure supplies are delivered within agreed timescales.  The post holder will also be required to establish good working relationships with external suppliers to ensure items are delivered and provided in accordance with the contractual specifications.    You will deputise for the Stores Manager on occasion. 

The essential requirements for the job are previous relevant experience within a stores environment.  You must also be computer literate with experience of inputting data and producing reports.  Knowledge of procurement processes, placing orders and maintaining stores records (either electronic or manual) would be an advantage.  You must also possess good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and work with minimal supervision.  You must also be able to drive and have a current driving licence.
