Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Salary: £21,074 - £23,866 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Avon Fire and Rescue Service as a Community Safety Database Administrator. This is a key role in our fire prevention and protection work and the successful applicant will directly contribute towards reducing the risk of fire within the community and ensuring we target our support and advice to those people who are most vulnerable.
Using our Community Fire Risk Management Information System (CFRMIS) you will provide administrative support for the Prevention & Protection Unit to enable it to achieve Unit and Corporate objectives and targets in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
Your primary role will be to maintain the CFRMIS database ensuring appropriate access rights and permissions are in place and that all data is held in accordance with legislative and IT requirements. You will produce periodic and ad-hoc reports and statistics, and provide managers and staff with database user support and training. You will also deputise for the CFRMIS Systems Administration Manager, and may at times provide advice and support to assist the Operations Response Department.
To be considered for this role you must be qualified to NVQ level 2 in a relevant subject, or equivalent, eg. Administration, Business Studies, IT or ILM. You must have significant relevant experience particularly of data management and input/extraction, spreadsheets and PowerPoint, and be able to demonstrate the ability to present statistical information clearly and provide user support and training. Your duties may involve working evenings as necessary, for which mutually agreed compensatory time-off will be given.
