Crews called to out of control bonfire

Northwick Road, Pilning

Crews from Avonmouth, Patchway and Thornbury fire stations were called to an out of control bonfire that involved multiple piles of pallets and shrubbery.

On arrival, crews used three breathing apparatus for safety, two high-pressure hose reels and two 45mm jets to extinguish the fire.

They also found 11 cylinders that they moved to safety.

Firefighters were assisted in damping down the area by the land owner.

The cause is thought to be accidental.
