Hoses at the ready for charity car wash

Firefighters at Yate fire station will have hoses, buckets and sponges at the ready for a charity car wash on Saturday (18/08).

The fundraiser will take place between 10am and 4pm at the fire station on Station Road in Yate.

Crews will be raising money for the Fire Fighters Charity, which provides support services and treatment to serving and retired members of staff from UK fire and rescue services, and Brain Tumour Research, the only national charity in the UK that is dedicated to raising funds for continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours.

They are hoping to raise more than £800 throughout the day.

Di Clack, Crew Manager at Yate fire station, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to give a little back to the community while also making a difference to some wonderful charities.

“It is always nice to be able to open up the station to members of the public so they can see more of what we do behind the scene, of which charity work is just one part.

“Join us on Saturday for a clean car, great day and help us make a difference.”
