Firefighters to take on 10k race in memory of one of their own
Firefighters from across Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) will come together to run the Great Bristol Run (10k) on Sunday 19 May in memory of Firefighter Ollie Hatfield who tragically lost his life to cancer in 2023.
With some firefighters running in full fire kit, which weighs a staggering 25 kilograms, the team will take on the race in Ollie’s honour raising funds for Cancer Research UK and The Fire Fighters Charity.
“We’re looking forward to taking on this challenge in memory of our great friend and colleague. He was a truly well-respected firefighter and loving father, husband and son.
“If you’re able to make a donation, please consider helping us support these two incredible causes. Otherwise, please like, share and comment on our social media posts to help us spread our message, and come and support us on the day.”
