Pulteney Bridge, Bath
A man was rescued from the River Avon in Bath by firefighters using an inflatable raft.
Crews from Bath Fire Station were alerted after the man was reported in the river close to Pulteney Bridge in the city centre. A safety boat was launched below Pulteney Weir to carry out a search, while crews in dry suits entered the water above the weir close to Pulteney Bridge.
The man, who was thought to be aged in his 20s, was found by rescue crews in bushes close to the bridge. Firefighters assisted the man onto an inflatable rescue raft before he was returned to dry land where he was assessed by paramedics. It’s not thought he suffered any serious injuries.
