Dorchester Street, Bath
A man has been rescued from the riverbank in Bath.
Firefighters were called after reports that a man in his 20s was close to the water. Police were on scene and had thrown him a safety line, which he had refused to take.
The Avon Fire & Rescue Service boat from Bath Fire Station was launched and crews assisted the man on board. He was taken to safety and appeared to be unharmed. He was left in the hands of police and ambulance crews.
Avon Fire & Rescue Service would like to remind people to take care when near the water. Never walk home close to the water, always try to find an alternative route. If you see someone in the water dial 999 and ask for the fire and rescue service.
"This was a good multi-agency piece of teamwork and we're glad it had a happy and positive ending."For more water safety advice click here
