Multiple crews called to commercial fire

Netham Rd, Redfield

At 0253 this morning, Avon Fire and Rescue were called to a premises on Netham Road, Redfield, Bristol. 
On arrival crews were confronted with a substantial fire in a commercial premises.
As a result of the nature and the size of the fire 10 fire engines and 2 turntable ladders attended. Crews used breathing apparatus and firefighting jets to bring the fire under control.
Due to the location of the fire several nearby premises have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
This includes 23 residents from sheltered accommodation who are being looked after at a nearby care home. There have been no reported injuries.
All three emergency services have been working in partnership to resolve this incident and ensure residents can return to their homes as soon as possible.
South Western Ambulance would recommend residents in the immediate area remain indoors with windows closed until lunchtime. If anyone is concerned that their health has been affected then contact NHS111.
Avon and Somerset Police would advise people to avoid the area around Netham Road and it will be closed for some time. If anyone saw any suspicious activity in the area from 0230 this morning then please contact them on 101.
