Male assisted from high-rise fire

School Road, Brislington

Crews from Hicks Gate, Temple, Bedminster and Kingswood fire stations were called to a fire on the 10th floor of a building in the early hours of the morning.

Four firefighters in breathing apparatus used two 45mm jets and a turntable ladder to extinguish the fire.

A stay put policy was put in place and worked effectively. The building was well-maintained and all firefighting systems such as vents, fire doors and dry risers worked as planned. Bristol City Council were also on hand to assist.

One male was assisted to safety by police and firefighters from the property that contained the fire and one neighbour self-evacuated.

Ambulance crews were also in attendance and the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
