Crews rescue several animals from fire

Gloucester Lane, Easton

Two crews from Temple fire station were called to a fire in a building consisting of three floors.

The ground floor of the building is used as a commercial property and the first and second floors are residential accommodation.

Firefighters found the fire located in the living room of one of the flats on the first floor.

Two firefighters in breathing apparatus used breaking gear to access the fire and one high-pressure hose reel and two 45mm jets to extinguish the fire.

Two guinea pigs and two degus were rescued by the crews and given oxygen therapy before they were returned to the care of their owners.

The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.
