USAR and crews called to derelict pub fire

Gainsborough Square, Lockleaze

Crews from Temple, Patchway, Southmead, Kingswood, Avonmouth and Bedminster fire stations were called to a fire in the roof of a derelict pub.

On arrival, firefighters used four breathing apparatus for safety and two high pressure hose reels and two 45mm jets to extinguish the fire.

They also used a turntable ladder to monitor the situation and thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.

Once the fire was extinguished Urban Search and Rescue Dog Sally was deployed to search the building alongside a police victim recovery dog.

Both dogs confirmed the building was clear and all persons were accounted for.

The cause is currently unknown.
