Crews called to industrial estate fire

Chittening Road, Hallen

Crews from Avonmouth, Southmead, Patchway, Pill, Temple and Portishead fire stations were called to a fire in a diesel wood shredder on an industrial estate.

On arrival, six firefighters in breathing apparatus used two 45mm jets, one high pressure hose reel and one dry powder extinguisher to extinguish the fire.

Crews also isolated the power to the site and used thermal imaging cameras to check for hotspots.

The scene was then handed over to the responsible person for the site.

The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.
