Crews called to kitchen fire in residential flat

Totterdown, Bristol

Crews from Temple and Bedminster fire stations were mobilised to reports of a fire in a first floor residential flat.

On arrival, firefighters found a kitchen fire caused by cooking being left unattended.

Crew used a triple extension ladder to gain access to the first floor flat and one high pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the building.

Crews remained on scene and gave fire safety advice to residents of neighbouring flats.

The cause is thought to be accidental.
