Crews attend fire in high rise premise

Marlborough Street, Bristol City Centre

We were called at 18:40 on Monday 9th November to a fire in a high rise premise on Marlborough Street, Bristol City Centre.

Crews from Temple, Southmead and Patchway attended the incident and on arrival found a fire in the kitchen, on the fourth floor of the building, and that a full evacuation of the building was being undertaken.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two 45ml jets to extinguish the fire and a thermal image camera to check for hotspots, before using a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke.

All persons within the building were accounted for and we were joined at the scene by police and ambulance colleagues.

The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental ignition.
