Max Lane, Winscombe
Firefighters rescued two cows from the basement of a derelict building.
When crews arrived on scene they found the animals which appeared to have wondered into the building through an unsecure doorway.
It’s thought they had stepped on a staircase which then collapsed causing them to fall into the basement.
Working alongside a local farmer crews created a temporary staircase using straw bales.
The cows were then enticed up the stairs using animal feed and encouragement.
A vet was in attendance but the animals appeared to be unharmed.
