Two women rescued from Pill mud

Watch House Road, Pill

Crews were called to reports that two women aged approximately 30 years of age were stuck in mud.

When crews arrived one woman had walked to safety but the other woman had injured her back and was unable to move.

Due to concerns that the sluice gate may open which would cause water to flow into the areas the woman was located, firefighters moved the casualty to a place of safety.

The woman was then placed onto a stretcher and carried up the bank. Both women were treated at the scene and conveyed to hospital.

It was later confirmed that the sluice gate did open after the casualty was moved and flooded the area in which the woman had been rescued from.

Four crews attended the incident from Bedminster and RDS Pill.
