Fire crews were called to tackle a fire at an industrial unit in Failand.
A number of calls were received from members of the public reporting a fire at the single story building which is thought to store wood pulp.
Eight fire engines from Bedminster, Nailsea, Pill, Portishead, Hicks Gate and Kingswood; a command vehicle and around 30 firefighters tackled the fire. Water jets were used to bring the fire under control at the 40m x 10m building. The blaze affected sections of the roof and around 50% of the building but crews were successful in preventing the fire spreading any further.
One man in his 30s was treated at the scene for the effects of minor smoke inhalation. There were no reports of any other injuries.
The fire is thought to have started accidentally.
