Learning and Development Centre Manager

Based at:            Lansdown, Bath
Contract:            Permanent
Hours:                 37 hours a week (Monday-Friday)
Salary:                 £25,295 - £27,905 per annum

An exciting position has arisen to join Avon Fire and Rescue Service as a Learning and Development Centre Manager at the South West Command and Development Centre (SWCDC) which is based at Lansdown, Bath.

Within this role, you will be responsible for the day to day management and running of the SWCDC, which is a shared facility used by other Fire and Rescue Services, local authorities including Police, Ambulance and other partnerships. 

You will be required to manage staff and resources effectively to meet customer requirements.  It is essential that you are committed to great customer care and satisfaction and have a flexible approach to work in order to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
You will also have control of the SWCDC financial account, complying with the relevant legislations, regulations and policy. 

As the Learning and Development Centre Manager, health and safety issues would fall under your remit.  This includes producing and reviewing risk assessments as well as completing all fire safety checks as prescribed.

There will also be an element of responsibility in creating and delivering L&D project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet the ever changing needs and requirements.  It is therefore essential that you possess effective communication skills and are able to prioritise your workload in order to meet targets and deadlines.

Our ideal candidate for this role will hold a level 3 management qualification (or equivalent) or have a significant amount of managerial experience, possessing the knowledge, skills and personal attributes to manage, motivate and develop staff.
