A man was rescued from his car by firefighters after a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.
When crews arrived they found the driver of a van already out and unharmed. A man, thought to be in his 40s, was trapped in a Vauxhall Insignia and complaining of neck injuries.
After stabilising the vehicle, crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the car. Working alongside paramedics, the man was assisted on to a spinal board and taken to hospital. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
