Firefighters called to fire involving biomass burner

Marshfield Road, Tormarton

Firefighters have dealt with a fire involving a biomass burner at a home in Tormarton.

Two crews from Yate Fire Station were called after a carbon monoxide alarm and smoke alarm alerted the occupants to the faulty burner.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used a high pressure hose reel to tackle the small fire which caused smoke to fill the kitchen. It’s believed the fire started accidentally as a result of a fault with the burner.

Two people who were in the house at the time of the fire were safely outside when crews arrived.
