Crews rescue young boy from RTC

An eight year-old boy has been rescued from underneath a vehicle by firefighters.

Crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision in a car park and on arrival found the youngster trapped. He appeared to be suffering leg and head injuries.

Working alongside paramedics, firefighters quickly worked to stabilise the vehicle, then used hydraulic cutting and spreading equipment as well as airbags to raise the vehicle off the ground and secure it.

This enabled paramedics to treat the boy who was taken to hospital by ambulance. The incident was left in the hands of police.
