Yate Fire Station, established in 1969, is staffed by both wholetime and on-call firefighters. The station is equipped with two fire engines and includes a Breathing Apparatus Service Vehicle which is used for bigger protracted incidents to maintain and supply additional breathing apparatus equipment. The station is also home of the Service’s Welfare Unit which is deployed during large incidents to provide essential facilities for firefighters who are on incidents for extended periods.
On average, on-call firefighters respond to 25 shouts a month and 300 shouts a year.
